The Top 3 Health Myths Every Mom Should Ignore

Mom Tips

  • MYTH: You have to be perfect to be healthy.
  • REALITY: Small things add up BIG TIME. Life isn’t perfect and a health journey isn’t either. Walk for five minutes, drink a glass of water, eat a vegetable, take a quick nap. Remind yourself that it all counts.

  • MYTH: Asking your partner to watch the kids while you exercise is selfish.
  • REALITY: I thought long and hard about throwing out there but it’s time for some real talk: most men never feel bad about asking you to watch the kids while they golf, work late, take a long shower at the gym, sleep in, etc. Sooo….why should you feel bad about doing something that will make you a kinder, more patient wife and mom. I know it’s easier said than done, but be like Elsa and let that guilt goooooooo.

  • MYTH: You need to eliminate every food and drink you love in order to lose weight.
  • REALITY: One more time: nope, nada, not for a second. Your weight is impacted by many, many things: age, genetics, sleep, stress, hormones, perimenopause, body composition, etc. No, you can’t have cupcakes and a glass of wine for every meal but there’s a heck of a lot more that goes into what you see on the scale than only what you’re eating and drinking.
