Class Details

Wear whatever you feel comfortable moving in! While it’s tempting to do livestream classes barefoot, shoes are important for all classes (except B&B) to support your body and prevent injury.

No, it’s not mandatory, but it will help me keep an eye on your form and allow you to make connections with other women in the class. We are a team and a judgment-free zone! If you don’t want to turn on your camera, the chat on Zoom is a great way to connect.

We currently rent space for in-person classes from Balance Yoga + Pilates located in Glen Ellyn, IL. When the weather allows, we have an agreement with the Wheaton Park District to host outdoor classes at various parks and also utilize the Prairie Path in downtown Glen Ellyn.

For Guided Cardio, you’ll use a stationary bike, treadmill, or the outdoors. We’ll move through intervals that boost your heart rate. The class gives you an extra push with a voice and presence to guide you. As one client put it, “I would normally just walk on my treadmill while watching Netflix. But hearing Katie’s voice during Guided Cardio gives me the motivation I need to actually push myself.”

Registering for Class

  1. Head to the Schedule section of our website.
  2. Scroll to the class you want to attend and click “Sign Up.”
  3. Log into your account, or create an account if it’s your first time.
  4. Choose your pricing option (single class, class pass, membership).
  5. Click “Reserve My Spot.”
  6. Check your inbox for a confirmation email that includes details about class, what to bring, date/time, location and cancellation policy.
Yes, please! For livestream classes, you need to register in order to receive the Zoom link. (You can register as late as 15 minutes after class begins and still join!) For in-person classes, signing up ahead of time reserves your spot as space is limited at our locations.
Yes! There is a one-week free trial of all classes (livestream, in-person and the On Demand library) for new clients or if it has been more than 6 months since you last attended a class. The free trial also includes daily emails with information on Smile Sweat Shine, fitness and nutrition tips, and recommendations on which classes to try.
Always refer to your class confirmation email for our current cancellation policies. Generally, in-person classes require that you cancel at least 12 hours in advance to avoid a $15 fee (for members) or a class being deducted from your pass. All Access Members are allowed one "free" cancellation per calendar month. We all hate cancellation fees (me included!) but because we rent space regardless of how many people are in class, this policy is necessary to keep this a sustainable business. There are no cancellation fees for livestream classes.

Class Passes & Memberships

The Work With Me section of my website lists all available passes and memberships. Click on the “This One’s Mine” button to see more details about each pass or plan.
Memberships can be canceled or changed at any time. You can make these changes by logging in to your account on our Schedule page and then clicking on “Active Packages.”

Recordings

Yes! All of our livestream classes are recorded and posted in the On Demand library shortly after the live class ends. You can purchase a single class rental for $15 or use one of the classes on your Livestream class pass. All Access or Monthly Livestream Unlimited members have unlimited access to all 150+ recordings in the On Demand library.

You can find class recordings in the On Demand section of the website. Any class pass or membership can be used for On Demand classes.

Is Smile Sweat Shine For Me?

No other studio or gym has the community that we do. We are a group of busy moms who want to stay strong so we can conquer our very full days and live long, healthy lives. We believe in energizing movement and nutritious food — not quick fixes. We support adapting exercises to make them whatever you need in that moment. We come together to practice healthy habits. We celebrate that you SHOW UP and want you to leave class feeling like a million bucks. 
At Smile Sweat Shine, YOU matter. We care about you, we communicate outside of classes, and we want to know what’s going on in your life. With our smaller size, we’re able to provide feedback on your form, call you by name, and get personal. We also hold you accountable. If you miss class or we haven’t seen you attend in awhile, we’re going to reach out and ask how we can help. You are not just another name or number here!
The hardest part is showing up for your first class. We’ve all been there – it can be intimidating to try something new. But we’re here to help! You’ll be greeted by name with a smile, and we’ll introduce you to other moms in class before we get started. Just remember, anything you do MATTERS! And it gets easier.
I'd recommend that you start with our most popular class, Bands & Balls (B&B), so you can really tune into your body and go at your own pace. In this class, we ditch the cardio and use core balls and resistance bands to build strength, endurance and confidence. We finish class on the mat with stretching and self-massage. Equipment is provided and class takes place in bare feet or gripped socks (not required).
1000% YES!!! One of the core beliefs of Smile Sweat Shine is that no matter how you are feeling or where you are coming from, any movement COUNTS. Whether you are brand new or a seasoned exerciser, we are ONE TEAM who shows up for strength and sanity. We’re a judgment-free community and anyone can join us, at any time, regardless of exercise experience.
Can I be honest? I’m not a morning person either! I don’t always get up early. But I have also learned that if my movement doesn’t happen first thing in the morning, it likely won’t happen at all. The good news is you don’t have to be a morning person to work out in the morning. That being said, ALL of our livestream classes are recorded and shared right after class — so you can work out with us anytime!
Reach out to me or just show up! The point isn’t to be perfect – we can figure it out together. While it can be tempting to make drastic changes, I encourage you to keep it simple. Drink a glass of water, go to bed early, and stop guilting yourself. Ups and downs are going to happen. This means you are NORMAL. Small, EASY steps are what will help you feel better.
